A Memory of Waking

I lie down now
in the dark remembering
who I am in darkness-

not a child, but swan settling
her body onto the surface
of a lake-

unbroken as dream.

I rise up into
the light remembering
what I am in light-

a flower opening, a field
of posies wakening red, yellow
and purple.

May the light continue to embrace you.

Very interesting poem. There is much more meaning that anyone could ever imagine.
