In Memory of Dusk

It was dusk,
not dawn,

that died-

small, dark

and hungry.

Dusk was the name of a small, runt
wolf-cub who died at the "hands" of her siblings... the metaphor is equivalent to how dawn rips out the throat of dusk in order to survive.

I think this is a very nice poem. Dawn to me has always been more important than dusk.
